There are public telephones in and around the campuses and all of them take phone-cards. Cards can be purchased from local shops.

8.Your Security

1)Residents are required to keep their doors, especially the main entrance door on the ground floor closed at all times and to keep valuables and money secure.

2)Make a proper use of all electric appliances and gas.

3)If a resident intends to be away from the city, they are advised to leave a message at the International Office to avoid unnecessary anxiety. Similarly, they should inform the Office if their return will be delayed.

4)Overnight guests are not permitted without the permission of the International Office.

5)Swimming in the reservoirs in the Mountain is not allowed.

6)All residents should avoid physical danger or risk. If you have the misfortune to be involved in a threatening incident of any kind, please report to the International Office or the police. Your action may prevent the same thing happening to someone else.

7)Visitors are refused to enter the foreign teachers¡¯& overseas students¡¯ apartment building without signing in in the duty room (ID documents are needed to produce).

8)Visitors are required to leave the apartment building before 11:00 p.m..

9.What Not to Bring

No pets are to be kept or temporarily cared for in flat.

Any items which may endanger the lives or well being of yourself or others, e.g. firearms, explosives, fireworks and other similar items

10.Telephone Bill

All residents have to pay the telephone bill by themselves in Bank of China near the main gate. After the 26th day of every month, the telephone bill can be paid for the 21st day of the prior month to the present one.

The last month before residents leaving, RMB 200 Yuan deposit has to be given to the International Office for the last month¡¯s telephone bill.

11.Residence Affairs

All residents are required to get the residence permit within one month after the arrival in Tai¡¯an City. Passport, health certificate, two passport-sized photos are needed. The charge depends the length of residence, One year RMB 400 Yuan, Two years to three years RMB 800 Yuan, More than three years RMB 1000 Yuan. During the time permitted, residents can leave and return to China freely.

12.Mountain Pass

International Office offers help for the residents to get the Mountain Card. Two photos, RMB 50 Yuan are needed for a yearly card issued by Mount Tai Administration.
